The comment is right, one game does not make a season, but neither does 5 games for that matter (the magical 60+ points in a row). The argument made by Texas fans is very valid, as represented by the fact that Bob Stoops must keep explaining why his team deserved to go to the Big XII championship game and why his team deserves to play for the BCS national championship.
A true fan, whether burnt orange or any other color, should not argue that it is "unfair" that oklahoma gets to play for the championship, because they met the requirements. But a true fan should argue for a better system; and the lack of even a good system is represented by years of turmoil (e.g. USC AP National champions in 2003, Auburn 2004). This year's Longhorns are just offering another example for the need of a better system.
I'm sure any irritable bowl syndrome will be cured the evening of January 8, when the 'Horns will be on their third day of celebrating their win over Ohio State, and Big Game Bob will be trying to explain why he lost his fifth BCS game in a row.
