Though I only watched portions of the ATT Cotton Bowl today, the parts I watched showed an ugly effort by Coach Mike Leach’s #7 Texas Tech Red Raiders as they lost in Dallas to Houston Nutt’s #25 Ole Miss Rebels, 47-34.
Yes, I know; in my “crystal ball” post last week, I predicted the game would end in a blowout, 42-27, but with the “W” going to the team from Lubbock. Boy, was I ever wrong!
Now that that game and the sloppy performance by Oklahoma State are out of the way, it’s up to the #3 Texas to defeat #10 Ohio State and, more importantly, for #1 Oklahoma to shutdown #2 Florida in order for the Big 12 to salvage its reputation across the nation.
As I wait for undefeated #6 Utah and one-loss #4 Alabama to get things started in the Allstate Sugar Bowl one hour from now, my record for this bowl season stands at 4-3.

Hey, at least KU won…ok, not much of a consolation, but Big 12 North isn’t doing too bad this bowl season.

The Big 12 is 3-2. Needs to be 5-2 when all is said and done.
