Speaking to the news media only hours after being impeached by the Illinois House of Representative, Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-Ill.) said that body’s action today was not a surprise and that he has fought similar efforts since he was re-elected in 2006. While droning on for nearly 20 minutes, however, he chose not to discuss any of the issues highlighted Dec. 9 by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald who said “Blago” was Engaged in ‘Political Corruption Crime Spree’.
“Blago” ended his media opportunity by quoting another British poet, Lord Alfred Tennison, and two lines from his poem, Ulysses:
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
Someone should have thrown a shoe at Gov. Rod Blagojevich!

Tennyson, a Christian, would be appalled that Blago quoted him in this context.
