A few moments after 47-year-old Barack Obama uttered the words, “So help me God” to conclude his inauguration as the 44th president of the United States, two signs emerged online to indicate that a peaceful transition of government had indeed taken place in the nation’s capitol.
Nearly simultaneously, the transition web site, Change.gov (below) went dormant, pointing visitors to the new White House web site (above) which had just came to life.
UPDATE 1/20/09 12:55 p.m. Eastern Time: Nearly an hour after it was said to have been published in a post on the Official White House blog, the text of President Barack Obama’s inauguration speech has yet to appear on the site. Below is a screenshot of the page taken as it appeared moments before this update was published.
UPDATE 1/20/09 4:23 p.m. Eastern Time: I revisited the White House blog and found the post touted as containing the text of the inaugural address has been removed entirely from the blog sometime during the two hours and 20 minutes since the screenshot image above was taken. The screenshot below shows where the post should be.

Well, I’ll say one thing for BHO’s team: they’re good at a lot of the techie stuff.
I wonder if the media will replay BHO’s taking of the oath of office. A bit of stumbling there.

And in civil fashion, of course.
