In a Washington Times editorial published yesterday, I learned the anti-gun Obama Administration was “quietly ending the federal firearms program, risking public safety on airlines in the name of an anti-gun ideology.” Now, I wonder how much time will pass until President Barack Obama shows a willingness to assume the same sort of risk and asks the Air Force to remove all weapons and weapons countermeasures from Air Force One.
All dark humor aside, I’m concerned that “44″ appears willing to put the safety of both my wife, a flight attendant who works for a major airline, and some 650 million passengers at increased risk. Has he forgotten the terror attacks that took place on Sept. 11, 2001?
I might be more understanding about the policy change had the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 taken place in 1961 instead of 2001. After all, if you believe everything in his bio — and many don’t — that appears on the White House web site, the president was only one-month old on that date in 1961.
UPDATE 3/18/09 AT 6:05 p.m. Central: According to a Fox News report, FAA officials deny that the program is ending, saying that it’s actually expanding. Who does one believe?

This isn’t the only avenue that your safety has been sacrificed by this moron. Dick Cheny’s comments this weekend concerning Obama weren’t taken well by the Obama administration, but I am sure he was onto something. They went into defense mode very quickly.
