Five days ago, a Missouri law enforcement agency’s confidential report about the so-called “Modern Militia Movement” inspired me to publish a post, Yikes, I Might Be Part of the Militia Movement! (Third Update). Soon after, that post caught the eye of Joshua Rhett Miller, a news editor at FoxNews.com. He interviewed me over the phone Thursday, and his article finally appeared on the FoxNews.com web site today.
Under the headline, ‘Fusion Centers’ Expand Criteria to Identify Militia Members, Miller’s 1,100-word article includes interviews with several sources, including former Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr and representatives of the Constitution Party and the ACLU.
Miller mentioned me in the two paragraphs below:
Bob McCarty, a St. Louis resident who blogged about the MIAC report, said he’s afraid he may be targeted, since he’s previously sold Ron Paul-related merchandise.
“[The report] described me, so maybe I need to get a gun and build a shack out in the woods,” McCarty said facetiously. “It’s certainly an attempt to stifle political thought, especially in Missouri. It definitely makes me pause, if nothing else … Maybe Missouri is just a test bed for squelching political thought.”

Good for you, great publicity for the website.
I’m afraid I had to answer “yes” to many of those items on the list. I’m no member of a militia, but I stand up for free speech and free thought, guns, protecting this country, personal responsibility. I’m no conspiracy nut, but I think there are those who want a North American Union, maybe one currency. I don’t think those things will come to pass, at least I hope not.

Debbie,
I hope they don’t come to pass, but…

I guess I am on everyone of those lists. I did my genealogy research into the CivilWar, learned how our Govt was turned into a family business of corruption and deception over slavery. I became increasingly alarmed at the anti-american groups who label researchers as hatemongers and racists for trying to document their ancestors, followed by my becoming a reenactor to honor my ancestor and now I am listed as a Militia. I distrusted all the politicians except Ron Paul and felt good that I jumped parties based on how the Media excluded his pro-American words, 911 came and this exposed how americans are lied to and clearly identifies a conspiracy theory. Acorn left no room for doubt that the presidency was purchased and paid for with corrupt politics and our own deceptive practices. How does america go from being attacked by Muslims to electing one as a president. He can claim he is a christian all day, but his racist pastor and upbringing along with him being eager to jump into political bed with Muslims is showing more how America has been sold out to a hostile religion and the cost will be our freedoms as we know it unless we unite and stand together as our forefathers demanded. That I guess makes me a domestic terrorist sleeper cell just waiting for the day the American flag no longer flies above Washington and then our children will dig up our BushObama-buried weapons and stand up for America.

mr mccarty, i would research christian identity first. it is not christian and i don’t think that is what you meant.
what was interesting in the report was that there was no mention of mecha and the growing aztlan movement. vote for ron paul and your a potential terrorist. join a group that advocates the return of the south west us to a foreign government and your good to go. gotta love it.
if i’m not mistaken, it was citizens of arab nations here legally and some i think illegally (overstayed visa) that initiated the attacks on sept 11, NOT US CITIZENS.
so why the concern over american citizens? sounds like something is afraid of those who cast the votes.
could be worse. wasn’t there something written about dissolving the citizen body and electing a new one?
let’s see, you are a danger to this government if
1. you vote for a third party
2. you believe that all citizens have a right to buy and possess a firearm. isn’t that part of the bill of rights?
3. you want a sound monetary policy and strong currency backed by something of value
4. believe in the diversity of america by adherance to states rights.
5.believe in the diversity of people and cultures by respecting sovereign borders. i think the un has something about the rights of cultures to form their own national identity. that means if you don’t want to be an american and adopt american culture, don’t come here.
6. since we don’t want americans to live on dirt floors and drive their families around 5 to a moped, how can you expect americans to work for or compete with wages of people who do drive their whole family to the market on a moped? how could we pay for the highways on the registration tax on a 200 dollar moped?
it’s sad when law enforcement has become so scared that they view the citizen body as their enemy.
dhs was never a good idea and this proves it.
