Looking for a Job? Get a Boob Job First!

March 30th, 2009 · 6 Comments

In a post last week, I shared news about a decrease in the number of plastic surgery procedures performed in the United States last year as a result of the economic downturn.  Today comes news about one New York plastic surgeon who’s seen “an influx of patients” for procedures such as face lifts, eye lifts, breast enhancement, lipo suction and cosmetic injectables.

Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg, self-described as “a leading Park Avenue plastic surgeon” and author of “A Little Nip, A Little Tuck,” is offering the ultimate “Job Fighter Package” to help middle-age men and women gain the edge on their competition — peers 10 to 15 years their junior who are competing with younger, more attractive candidates — and get back on the payroll with new, cosmetically-enhanced looks.

in a news release today, he makes several suggestions about how job hunters can land new opportunities:

  • Are you trying to land a job in the finance industry? The eyes speak volumes about you — get an eye lift.  Forget it, Bernie Madoff!  No amount of plastic surgery can land you another job on Wall Street.
  • Looking for a job as an Executive Administrative Assistant? Consider a boob job and a butt lift to ensure you won’t be forgotten after the interview.
  • Eager to get back into the real estate game? Go for a face lift to get that fresh faced, polished look.

If, after opting for plastic surgery, you remain jobless and without prospects, you can feel good knowing you helped the Obama Administration redistribute your wealth.

Bob, you overlooked the increase in women seeking jobs in the exotic dancing business. There have been many stories in the past couple weeks of laid off women earning in one night what they made in one week at many of the adult show clubs. I wonder if there’s a connection between the two. Sorry to go off topic. I am just curious; although, I think you make a good point as my hair thins the closer I get to 40.

Sorry, Clay, but I do my best to keep readers abreast of the issues impacting their lives. On the subject you mention above, you might recall I published a post in January 2008 about my life as a poll dancer. Check it out!

I was just giving you a hard time. I don’t recall that blog, but it’s funny Rush is commenting on this today.

Clay — Wake up, man! I wasnt’ smacking you. You missed the pun (i.e., “keep you abreast”) contained in my comment about this boob job post.

I am trying to write a marketing report today. I’m not paying as close attention as I normally do. My bad! Plus I sit in amazement today as this GM story continues to develop. CEObama continues to amaze me with the power grab.

It is amazing but this trend to have surgery to obtain employment is global. I read a similar article about people in China having cosmetic surgery to improve their job prospects.
