BMW Following Two Big Stories this Week (Updated)

April 27th, 2009 · No Comments

This week, I’ll be writing follow-up pieces on two interesting subjects, both of which hinge on discovering who is telling the truth in pressure-packed situations:

  • Map of Ecuador Later this morning, I’ll be interviewing Andrew Woods, a Huffington Post blogger and Harvard Law School graduate who is one of the attorneys for the Amazon Defense Coalition in its $27 billion environmental suit against Chevron in Ecuador. See this post. and the updates that accompany it for background information
  • PCASSBy noon today, according to an Air Force public affairs officer at U.S. Central Command, I should receive answers to a half-dozen questions I asked two weeks ago about the military’s first 12 months of using the Preliminary Credibility Assessment Screening System (i.e., portable lie detectors) in combat zones. See this post and the updates that accompany it for background information.

Posts on both subjects will follow.

UPDATE 4/27/09 at 10:58 a.m. Central: I spoke briefly this morning with the Amazon Defense Coalition’s Andrew Woods, an attorney, and Karen Hinton, a public relations person.  Unfortunately, an “urgent matter” on Woods’ part forced us to reschedule until Tuesday afternoon.  Stay tuned…

UPDATE 5/04/09: See my latest piece, Blogger Targeted by ‘Spin’ in $27 Billion Lawsuit, published today.
