Blogger Asks ‘WHERE ARE MY FREE CUPS?!’

May 7th, 2009 · 2 Comments

“Whether you spend $100 a month or $100,000 a month on disposable cups for your office, we can help your company SAVE real money. Whether your company is a 10 employee small business or a Fortune 500 corporation with thousands of employees, we can help you reduce REAL expenses. Our free coffee cups make sense…in fact a lot of cents!”

Free Paper Cups

Several weeks ago, I came across the web site, FreePaperCups.com, where the promise of free paper cups above appears on the the site’s About Us page.  Intrigued, I completed the required forms online and submitted my company information as required.  Then I waited for weeks.  At least six weeks.  To date, my company — which is me — has yet to receive a single free paper cup.

Was a computer glitch to blame?  A shipping error?  Did my order fall through a crack?  Something else?  I don’t know.  And the reason(s) behind the company’s failure to deliver free paper cups was not really at the forefront of my mind.  Instead, I simply wanted an answer to the question, “WHERE ARE MY FREE CUPS?!”

To obtain that answer, I sent an e-mail to officials at the “marketing solutions company” that claims to “specialize in handheld branding in the office…ensuring office workers see, touch, and hold your advertising message throughout the day in the workplace.”  That was 30 minutes ago, and the same questions remains on my mind:  “WHERE ARE MY FREE CUPS?!”

I think a better question may be; “Why do you want free cups?” They’re expensive in the long-run, drab and beige, and unenjoyable. A paper cup might ensure office workers hold your advertising message – but only until they down their java and throw your message in the trash.

Wouldn’t a better solution be to go the reusable route? Reusable coffee cups can save businesses money – which is explained in this article. Customers appreciate it too: one more article

Nicko, I still believe in truth, justice and the American way…and paper cups…and truth in advertising.
