Free Root Beer Floats Wednesday Night at SONIC®

May 29th, 2009 · No Comments

Sonic Drive-In

As a native Oklahoman now living in Missouri, I like to promote activities in the Sooner State whenever possible.  One of those is Free Float Night at SONIC Drive-In®.

With swimming pools open, kids wrapping up the school year and temperatures heating up. SONIC will thank its customers Wednesday with Free Float Night, giving away free 10 oz. root beer floats from 8 p.m. until midnight at participating Sonic Drive-Ins. SONIC plans to give away more than 3.5 million Root Beer Floats to customers coast to coast during this special event.

SONIC, America’s Drive-In, started as a hamburger and root beer stand in 1953 in Shawnee, Okla., called Top Hat Drive-In, and then changed its name to SONIC in 1959. The first drive-in to adopt the SONIC name is still serving customers in Stillwater, Okla.

As the nation’s largest chain of drive-in restaurants, SONIC has more than 3,500 drive-ins coast to coast. More than a million customers eat at SONIC every day; and, with more drink combinations than any other quick-service restaurant — more than 168,000 — SONIC is Your Ultimate Drink Stop(R).

Editor’s Note: No, I haven’t received anything from SONIC in exchange for publishing this news.  How dare you think otherwise!
