An article in the Army Times today carried news about the dire financial situation in which the The National D-Day Memorial Foundation finds itself on the eve of the 65th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy:
Donations are down in the poor economy. The primary base of support — World War II veterans — is dying off. And the privately funded memorial is struggling to draw visitors because it is hundreds of miles from a major city.
Despite the “down economy,” I believe Americans must continue to support the work of foundations like this one as they strive to honor the men and women of the “Greatest Generation.”
If you agree with me, click here and make a donation — large or small — today!
