Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time conditionally endorsed the creation of a Palestinian state in a major speech Sunday in Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv, according to a Fox News article.
The conservative leader said Israel would be ready to accept such a state provided — insert BIG IF here — the Palestinians recognize Israel as the state of the Jewish people, as well as demilitarize their territories and offer security guarantees for Israel. In other words, a Palestinian state isn’t going to happen on Bibi’s watch, and that’s a good thing.
