Ronald Reagan Knew Socialized Medicine Was Bad

June 20th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Almost half a century ago, then-private citizen Ronald Reagan spoke out against government-run health care (a.k.a., “socialized medicine”) as proposed by Democrats of the day.  Part of the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign, the voice of the man who went on to become the nation’s 40th president appeared on LPs sent out by the American Medical Association.  Click on the image below to listen.

Below are three more-recent takes on the subject of socialized medicine.  First up is ABC News’ John Stossel and filmmaker Michael Moore.  It’s followed in the next video by observations of Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).  Finally, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) shares his thoughts on the matter from his perspective as both a doctor and a legislator.
