Dallas AARP Members Canceling Memberships After Meeting on Healthcare Reform Goes ‘South’

August 6th, 2009 · 4 Comments

AARP members who showed up at a recent Dallas-area “listening session” on health care reform got more than they bargained for:  Officials of the organization purporting to represent the interests of America’s senior citizens walked out on their members after they had the nerve to express viewpoints that ran counter to those of AARP.  Never did care much for the AARPvarks. The video above tells the story.

I wonder if they’ve been like this all along and only now seniors are starting to take notice of it?

It seems odd that Seniors would allow a bunch of young liberals to run their own organization.

I gave up my membership to AARP two years ago. When they Name Harry Belafonte as man of the Year. Especially after his associations with Hugo Chevez of Venezuela. Also I am Pro-life and they are big advocates of Planned Parenthood which provides more abortions than any other organization I know of. I cringe evertime i think of my membership fees going toward left wing extremist. TY

We just sent our cards back and cancelled our membership after 15 years. I guess I did not realize the connections with SEIU and liberal activities.
