Thanks to Rep. Joe Wilson, a post I published almost five months ago about the misnamed Employee Free Choice Act (a.k.a., “Card Check”) is receiving a lot of page views tonight. Why? Because the South Carolina Republican was courageous enough to call President Barack Obama a liar on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives during his prime time speech about health care. UPDATE 9/10/09: Looks as if The Village Voice’s New York News Blog has taken note of this post. Predictably, the story’s lead paragraph leans far to the left:

I applaud him for calling obama out as the liar he is, he was just screaming out the same things we were, at our TV’s, to obama. He is a liar.

OB IS A LIAR – has been and will always be. He said “no illegal aliens will be covered under the health plan” but then also said “everyone in America will be covered”. HELLO!! CNN even reported THAT 43+M WHO ARE UNISURED THAT OB WANTS TO INSURE INCLUDE ILLEGAL ALIENS IN THE US. WAKE UP LEFTIES. Take your rose colored glasses off when OB is speaking and LISTEN.

Of course he’s a liar; that’s nothing new. But calling him on the House floor only plays into his (and the media’s) hands. That’s exactly the kind of thing that turns off the vast wishy-washy middle that swings elections, by letting the GOP be painted as angry reactionaries. It pushes those “moderates” into the arms of liberals like Obama, who are always portrayed as mild and understanding.
It may feel good to call him a liar, but if it helps him nationalize health care and get reelected, it’s not worth it. People should be talking today about how the plan hasn’t changed and still sucks, not about some Republican groveling and apologizing for not being able to control himself.

No doubt Obama tell lie after lie , but he gets around the no coverage of “illegal aliens thing” because there is a bill right now to grant amnesty to them, if this happens by the time his health care goes through, they won’t be considered illegal aliens. Its a lie now, but may not be by the time he gets his health care and then he will look back and say he never lied…the man is surrounded by liars, but “smart” ones …Pelosi is another story all in herself…wow…her face was priceless when Wilson called Obama a liar.

Jim Williams is an embarrassment to the entire country and a perfect example, (as the other comment above and this entire website itself) of the fear-driven, hysteria-loaded, rampant hate-paranoia of the NEOCONs.
You wonder why America voted you completely out of power last election? This is why. Iguess I should thank Jim Williams for being such an irresponsible, detestable, despicable jerk on international TV. He reminded the entire planet why being a NEOCON is a horrendous thing.
