Decision on Planned Parenthood Funding Expected

September 16th, 2009 · 4 Comments

During the past 10 months, I’ve reported on the battle between pro-life activists and Planned Parenthood of South Texas.  Today, the battle seems near its climax.

TX Legislative Update Quote 9-16-09

Today, I received word from Jonathan Saenz at the Liberty Legal Institute that the board of the Nueces County Hospital District will meet Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. to make a final decision on government funding for Planned Parenthood’s sex education courses, including their work in public schools.  During that meeting, which will take place at 555 N. Carancahua St., Suite 950-A (NCHD Board Room), in Corpus Christi, the NCHD will have a public hearing on Planned Parenthood’s request for $70,000 of government funding for 2009-10.

In a piece published today at Texas Legislative Update, Saenz points out that the recently-obtained Planned Parenthood grant proposal — which, by the way, I provided after a 100-day battle to get it — lists numerous elementary schools participating in sex education programs provided by Planned Parenthood.  Therein lies one of the many problems associated with funding the world’s largest abortion provider.

If you’re like most of my readers, Planned Parenthood’s efforts make you sick to your stomach.  Similarly, you’re probably not able to attend the meeting in Corpus Christi, Texas.  In lieu of attending, however, you can voice your objection to Planned Parenthood’s involvement in public education by writing letters to members of the NCHD at the following address:

Van Huseman, Chair, Board of Managers*
Nueces County Hospital District
555 North Carancahua St., Suite 950
Corpus Christi, Texas  78478-0002

You should load up the trailer for Maafa21 and show people where to get information on Planned Parenthood’s real agenda: http://www.maafa21.com

The Nueces County Hospital District Board of Managers gave Planned Parenthood funding a thumbs up last night for another $70,000.

It seems that Planned Parenthood had no fear of losing this funding. Their representatives were very bold in admitting they collaborate with pre-school and elementary schools under their Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program with the Nueces County Hospital District.

The Board of Managers had no objection when Planned Parenthood of South Texas Chair, Nancy Rutherford, addressed the Board and said that children as young as Kindergarten age should receive sex education. Kindergarten? 5 and 6 year olds?!? Unbelievable!!!!!

The NCHD Board turned another deaf ear when STOPP exposed information from the grant application that Planned Parenthood is collaborating with Head Start, “a comprehensive program designed to foster the healthy development of three, four, an five year-old children from low-income families”, elementary schools and many other community organizations for very young children.

STOPP also gave information along with graphic images to the Board from a book Planned Parenthood widely promotes to ten year old kids “It’s Perfectly Normal.” Here’s an editorial on this book from http://www.thereaganwing.com
“It seems as though a book banned from our state prisons is perfectly fine for our children.” The graphics are so obscene that the books is banned from Texas state prisons. The Board didn’t so much as blink an eye when they received this information and looked at the pornographic cartoons that were presented to them.

In a report from KRIS 6 News, the Board Chairman, Van Huseman, says he has a “moral obligation to provide someone” funding. Someone? Sounds like a friendship to me.
    Someone = Planned Parenthood

Here’s a link to the KRIS report http://www.kristv.com/Global/story.asp?S=11180337

A moral obligation to fund Planned Parenthood going after little kids with pornography and graphic sex ed. I’ve never heard of a moral obligation to use government funds to in essence push pornography on little kids.

Thanks, Bob, for keeping up with this story.

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear that outcome. Seems as if the fight must continue.
