‘I Was Actually Black Before the Election’ and Other Twisted Versions of the Truth from Barack Obama

September 22nd, 2009 · 3 Comments

During an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman Monday, President Barack Obama responded to the liberal talk show host’s question about racism by saying, “I think it’s important to realize I was actually black before the election.”  Selectively ignoring the fact that his mother was white, the remark a Reuters headline described as “deadpan” generated raucous laughter from the obviously-biased crowd inside The Ed Sullivan Theater.  And the “spin” continued.

President Obama compared himself to FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan, drawing weak connections to each via the same talking points he had used the previous day (see this post for details) during appearances on five Sunday television talk shows.  Because the president ignored his network, Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck decided to air a pseudo-interview with him by asking him questions and then using answers he’s already given.

In the four videos below, Beck exposes so many lies that you’ll find yourself challenged to count them all.  Watch…

Well, I’ll give Obama credit where credit is due. That was a good answer, and he knows it.

By saying “I was actually black before the election” he meant that he obviously wouldn’t have won if the country was racist.

On the other hand, I’d be willing to bet he was asked that very question in every interview over the weekend, and he knew he would be asked that question likely because he suggested he’d be asked that question, because he wants to be seen answering that question to help with his numbers, which have taken a serious nose-dive. He knows how many people were in Washington on 9/12, and he knows what it means. This is damage control.

It’s true, too, and he knows it on a certain level. But it’s imperative that he’s seen telling everyone he doesn’t think the country is racist.

    G-D America. ;-)
