The teaser atop an article in the UK’s Telegraph this morning offers a glimpse at what readers should expect:
The relationship between President Barack Obama and the commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan has been put under severe strain by Gen Stanley McChrystal’s comments on strategy for the war.
Why is President Obama upset with General McChrystal? Apparently, it’s because the general tends to speak his mind and speak the truth before worrying about being politically correct.
As a former Air Force officer who dealt with general officers on a frequent and regular basis, I find General McChrystal’s approach refreshing.

Of course the President doesn’t agree! But with all due respect..how many from HIS list of close family and friends does he have serving over there? And how many of THEM is he ready and willing to put on the ground over there in such a show of force? As a “Military Parent” with a child having served 2 tours of Iraq and is getting ready to go to Afghanistan, I would have to go ith the General’s idea! After taking that approach then perhaps hit em hard on the ground!
