More than 250 grassroots patriots gathered at the intersection of Highways K and N in O’Fallon, Mo., early Saturday afternoon to participate in the latest iteration of a now-weekly patriotic rally against socialism and government-run health care. Across the highway was a group of three-dozen public option backers carrying mass-produced signs that begged the question, “Who’s Astroturfing Now?”

Yes, there were some union people on the opposing side of the highway, but the signs were distributed by the 79-year-old man who first set up his lawn chair there 3 weeks ago, deciding that those in favor of healthcare reform needed a voice. He paid for the signs with his own retirement money.
