“ONE VOICE AGAINST SOCIALISM” was the message on the sign carried by 68-year-old grandmother Janet Allquist six months ago when she began a one-woman campaign against socialism and government run amok. Today, her message continues to resonate through weekly Saturday afternoon rallies at the intersection of Highways K and N in O’Fallon, Mo.
Allquist was joined by nearly 200 like-minded patriots, ranging from pre-schoolers to octogenarians. Many waved home-made signs in favor of ideals like freedom, liberty and following the U.S. Constitution while others waved messages against government-run health care, high taxes and a litany of other subjects where elected officials have let them down.
