I experienced a “CINNAMON ROLLS FAIL” this morning and offer details below so as to prevent any of my loyal readers from having to endure the same:

The “incident” began with my middle-school boys missing their bus and requiring me to drive them to school early this morning — before I had had my breakfast, I must add.  On the way home, I stopped at the nearby Wal-Mart Super Center to pick up a carton of milk and was overcome by morning hunger.

Specifically, I was drawn to the freezer section across from the milk case where a bag of Pillsbury MINI Grands! Cinnamon Rolls seemed to be “calling my name.”  Unfortunately, I paid too little attention to what I was about to purchase and proceeded with my items to the checkout lane at the front of the store and completed the transaction.

Upon returning home, I pre-heated the oven, greased the glass pan, opened the bag and emptied its contents into the pan.  That’s when I realized just how much the word “mini” applied to almost everything about my purchase except the purchase price and the amount of icing included in the bag.

The 12 rolls were, without a doubt, small.  So small, in fact, that the three — count ‘em, three! — packets of icing that came with them appeared almost as large as all the rolls combined (see photo above).

Granted, the 13.5-oz. package of rolls satisfied my sweet tooth, but they weren’t tasty enough to be worth $3.56 (almost 27 cents per ounce), resulting in this blogger’s “CINNAMON ROLLS FAIL.”

Editor’s Note: No, this doesn’t mean I’m a radical anti-Wal-Mart or anti-Pillsbury activist or anything close.  I offer the observation above simply because I own this forum and felt like venting a bit.
