Tom Burnett Sr., father of United Flight 93 hero Tom Jr., believes the Islamic terrorists who committed acts of war Sept. 11, 2001, should receive justice via a military trial and not via proceedings in a civilian courtroom located within walking distance of Ground Zero. Granting them civilian trials, he says, unnecessarily gives them a public platform to rail against the United States and is a slap at 9/11 families. Mr. Burnett says he will fight.
The elder Burnett is also protesting the National Park Service’s attempt to plant a giant, crescent-shaped symbol of Islam atop his son’s grave. Read more about that fight here.
