Just over a year ago, I “purchased” one-trillion carbon offsets from this site and received “proof” of the transaction in the form of the Certificate of Carbon Offsets (right).
Now, thanks to the “ClimateGate” scandal, we appear to have e-mail proof that scientists at the center of climate change research have manipulated data and otherwise engaged in fraud. That leaves me wondering (1) what I should do with my carbon offsets and (2) whether it was a good decision to purchase the carbon offsets in the first place.
In answer to the first question, I’ll keep the certificate as a visual aid to show my grandchildren as I tell them about the hoax of global warming.
As for the second question, I think the answer is “Yes!” After all, it was free!
