Twenty-two months ago, I published a post which included a photo (above) of a billboard touting Ameren UE’s “POWER ON” initiative. I found it ironic that, as shown in the photo, so many power lines hung between me and the billboard. At the same time, however, I assumed it just a matter of time before those power lines shown would, per the billboard’s message (i.e., “BURYING POWER LINES UNDER GROUND”) be buried.
Recently, my above-mentioned assumptions about the St. Louis-area utility provider were proven to be misguided.
The photo below, taken from about 200 feet behind where I shot the first photo along Highway 94 in St. Charles County, shows not only a new message on the billboard but also a new set of power lines going up to replace the old ones that — errrh, uhh — were going to be buried.
