“Reconcile” came to mind as Uncle Jay’s word of the week as it relates to Tiger Woods, the Nobel Peace Prize and other topics on the latest episode of “Uncle Jay Explains the News.”
This week, Uncle Jay explains how Woods is trying “to get along better and work things out” by reconciling with his wife after a week during which each new headline seemed to add to the golfer’s woes.
In addition, he points to other topics, including:
- Copenhagen, where he says “whole crowds” are struggling with reconciliation — no doubt, over whether climate change is a scam or not (and it is!);
- Members of Congress, who are having trouble with the word — because it has too many syllables — in relation to discussions over the need for health care reform that became a “crisis” months ago;
- President Barack Obama, who reconciled his acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize with pledging to kick butt in places like Afghanistan; and
- CBS, the network that has canceled yet another soap opera, “As the World Turns,” while leaving one, “The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric” (a.k.a., “The Sad and the Lonely”), on the air.
