“The Senator and the Frog” is a hit in my home theater!

The storyline, similar to that seen in the plot of Disney’s latest animated feature, “The Princess and the Frog,” goes something like this:

A man who fancies himself a Democratic Party prince kissed an independent-minded frog on the butt today, but the frog didn’t turn into a beautiful partner for the prince.  Instead, the prince turned into a frog, too!

In reality, the frog was Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.).  For hours today, he refused to vote in favor of the health care reform bill being pushed by Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) until the senate majority leader gave him something he wanted.

By noon, Senator Reid gave Senator Lieberman something he wanted (i.e., “the kiss”), and the independent from Connecticut announced he would vote for the measure.

To the surprise of both men, however, another obstacle surfaced in the form of Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.).  He said he wouldn’t vote for the measure and, now, it appears as if it might die.

If that happens, it will, indeed, be a happy ending.
