One week ago today, as shown in the video above, President Barack Obama used teleprompters as he addressed sixth-grade students at Graham Road Elementary in Falls Church, Va. But who knew? A Google News search today showed the mainstream news media certainly didn’t mention it in any of their reports — unless, that is, you count an ABC News blog or a not-worth-reading Media Matters for America Limbaugh Wire post.
Why didn’t they mention it in their reports? It’s certainly not due to the media being absent form the event. In addition to showing Education Secretary Arne Duncan and a classroom full of school children who don’t stand up to shake hands with a president, the video below shows the room is chock full of reporters, photographers and the like. Apparently, however, they see only what they want to see.
Sadly, we must turn to The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart for what might be the most honest coverage of President Obama’s teleprompter-dependent day in school.
