Special Operations Vets Jump Into Presidential Politics

I received an important email forwarded to me today by retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt. John Stewart, a friend of mine who lives in Beverly Hills, Fla.  It appears that the chief and his fellow members of the Special Operations community are getting ready to kick butt, take names and do whatever it takes to defeat Barack Obama in 2012.

The email message, originated by Dick Brauer, describes the establishment of a new organization, Special Operations Speaks,” to combat what he describes as “a government that has gone rogue.”

Brauer continues:

To put this in Air Force terms, our burgeoning organization (composed of honorably discharged Special Operations personnel from all the armed services plus their supporters) has started engines, taxied to the runway, and is about to “stroke the burners” as it takes off on a national effort to back Governor Romney for the Presidency of the United States.  Barrack Hussein Obama cannot be allowed another four years to continue his systematic and insidious destruction of our nation. If ever a Special Operations mission was needed, it is now!

We also welcome friends and neighbors who feel as we do, and we encourage them to lend weight and assistance to the SOS campaign.  Many of you will remember the effort by John O’Neill and his contingent of Swift Boat Veterans as well as SEAL CAPT (Ret) Larry Bailey’s Vietnam Veterans for Truth campaign; both were instrumental in defeating John Kerry’s bid for the Presidency.  Col George “Bud” Day (Medal of Honor) was equally effective in mobilizing the POWs to defeat Kerry and exposing him for his traitorous acts and his questionable service in Vietnam . We hope to have the same effect on Barrack Obama.  ALL of our military- conventional, active and reserves alike will benefit if we succeed, and with your help, we WILL succeed!

Current and ongoing actions: We are currently in the process of establishing an unaffiliated “Super PAC” to provide necessary funding to support our objectives. We are also currently preparing a press release that finalizes our Concept of Operations (draft attached), refines our campaign plan and, as our first “round fired downrange,” initiates a petition drive calling on Chairman Peter King of the House Homeland Security Committee to hold hearings on the leak that resulted in Dr Shakil Afridi being sentenced to 33 years in a Pakistani jail for helping the CIA find Osama Bin Laden. We feel that whoever in our Government leaked the information concerning Dr Afridi’s participation in this mission needs to face the consequence of their actions.”

Brauer goes on to highlight “Spiking The Ball,” a piece written by Larry Bailey and encourage recipients of the message to read the group’s Concept of Operations,” and get involved at www.SpecialOperationsSpeaks.com.

FYI:  Chief Stewart is the father of Army Green Beret Sgt. 1st Class Kelly A. Stewart whose life and wrongful conviction are chronicled in my book, “Three Days In August: A U.S. Army Special Forces Soldier’s Fight For Military Justice.”  I know he would appreciate it if you would join him in the fight to clear his son’s name.
