‘You always hope that somebody’s got your back’

“You always hope that somebody’s got your back.” — The headline-shaping quote appears inside Three Days In August, the nonfiction book that chronicles the life and wrongful conviction of former Army Sgt. 1st Class Kelly Stewart, a highly-decorated Green Beret combat veteran.

While on a Special Forces deployment several years ago, Kelly Stewart got to meet country music superstar Toby Keith.

In October 2011, I shared the photo above, showing country music superstar Toby Keith shaking hands with Stewart at an undisclosed location in Iraq. Sadly, I suspect many folks would hesitate to shake hands with him now; after all, he is, according to the U.S. Government, a convicted felon. But you’re bigger than that, right? And you base your opinions on facts, right?

Today, I challenge you to read the same information I read — most notably, the Record of Trial from Stewart’s court-martial — and reach the same conclusion. You’ll find the information inside my book, Three Days In August.  To order a copy of the book, click here or on the graphic below.
