Headlines from Around the World

Below are some of the news stories that caught my attention this morning:

The makers of LeadCheck® Swabs warns this morning that Easter Eggs May Hold Some Unwanted Surprises.

Karl Rove’s interesting op-ed piece for The Wall Street Journal begins with this interesting opening paragraph: “One out of five is not a majority. Democrats should keep that simple fact of political life in mind as they pursue the White House.”

In a news release, Wal-Mart announced that its Great Value milk is now being sourced exclusively from cows that have not been treated with artificial growth hormones like recombinant bovine somatotropin (rbST).

Golf fans planning to attend the Masters Tournament were warned about highly-potent pollen in a news release issued by MCGHealth, a company based in — you guessed it — Augusta, Ga. FYI: The tournament takes place April 7-13.

Happy Easter and Kudos to Zach Johnson

Happy Easter from everyone associated with Bob McCarty Writes!

I’m taking this opportunity to send a shout-out to Zach Johnson, the 31-year-old golfer from Iowa. Johnson took advantage of his first opportunity to play in the granddaddy of all tournaments, The Masters at Augusta National, by winning the 71st version of the professional golf tournament.

Better yet, upon completing his final round, he was asked how it felt (to be in position to win the major of all majors of golf tournaments). Overcome with emotion, he choked back tears and gave credit for all of his success to Jesus Christ whom Zach said, “…was with me” on Easter. Way to go, Zach! You’re a man who has his priorities in order!
