Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) has died at the age of 77 after succumbing to an infection following gall bladder surgery a few weeks ago.
Aside from the fact that he served his country as a Marine in Vietnam, I can’t say that I liked him much. Still, his passing is newsworthy.

Since charges have been dropped against half of the Marines facing legal proceedings in connection with the deaths of 24 Iraqi civilians in Haditha, one military law expert believes Marine Corps leaders are putting the burden of responsibility on senior Marines and those most directly involved in the incident.
