After reading the article, “Thirty Days of Hell in the Life of an Accused Army Officer,” Stacey Johnson wrote in a comment that the woman behind sexual assault allegations against Maj. Christian “Kit” Martin took advantage of his kindness and “played him like a fiddle.”
The comment speaks volumes about the 47-year-old Army officer who’s set to go on trial Dec. 1 at Fort Campbell, Ky., on bogus sexual assault charges that could land him in prison for 58 years if he’s found guilty. Why? Because Johnson is the ex-wife and mother of Major Martin’s three biological children and offers a unique perspective about the the man she still considers a friend.
The text of Johnson’s comment — with the accuser’s name redacted by me — appears below:
Mr. McCarty,
I would just like to thank you for writing these articles for my ex-husband and friend, Christian (Kit) Martin.
The amount of distress that one woman could inflict on a family is not known by anyone more than Chris and my children. I recollect so many sad memories of the battles that she inflicted upon our family. (Accuser) basically took away our children’s childhood. There are so many horrible memories and manipulation schemes that she fabricated to isolate Chris from his children and me.
Lies, deceit, and manipulation are the adjectives that best describe the character of this unbelievable woman. I pray that somehow she receives the mental help that she needs.
As for Chris, yes our marriage failed-but he is a good man. If anyone was going to say bad things about a person, one would expect it to be their ex; however, I have nothing bad to say. Chris’ down fall is that he has a heart and tried to help a woman who played him like a fiddle.
SIR, I remember so many manipulation games that (accuser) fabricated and played out that cost us so much. The concept of even thinking it possible for this man who served his country for so many years could go to prison for crimes that I KNOW HE DID NOT COMMIT is just beyond words.
I thank you for writing in his behalf. Chris is a good man. I pray for his release from this nightmare.
Sincerely,
Stacey Johnson (Martin)
Stay tuned for more details. Meanwhile, be sure to read my other articles about Major Martin’s case.
