With cows receiving a lot of blame in recent years for allegedly contributing to global warming via their flatulence, I thought I would share a new television spot, “Thank you, cows”, that caught my attention this morning. Produced by British dairy producer Müller, it made me think of wearing a CO2ws t-shirt. Hat tip: AgWired

Beef Cattle Industry Fighting Back Against EPA
April 7th, 2010 · No Comments
The prices of everything from hamburgers to filet mignon are going to rise, thanks to the efforts of people at the Environmental Protection Agency who, it appears, didn’t receive the memo that global warming climate change had been proven to be a hoax at best and, more accurately, a crime against humanity. In an effort [...]

Cow Farts Hot Topic of ABC News Programs
April 21st, 2009 · 1 Comment
Asked by the host to explain his party’s plan to deal with carbon emissions, Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner described the overwhelming scientific consensus that carbon dioxide is contributing to climate change as “comical” during an appearance (see video below) on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopolous Sunday. Furthermore, he pointed out that cow [...]

EPA Wants to Turn Cows Into Goats — Scapegoats
December 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment
It appears the folks at the Environmental Protection Agency want to turn cows into goats — or, more accurately, scapegoats — by charging fees to people who raise air-polluting animals. According to an Associated Press report today, a proposal put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency would require farms or ranches with more than 25 [...]

Miniature Cows All the Rage Across the Pond
August 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Rising supermarket prices are persuading hundreds of families across the pond to turn their backyard gardens into mini-ranches stocked with miniature cattle, according to a recent Times Online article. Perhaps, the UK cows will produce fewer greenhouse gases, too. Regardless, the miniature cows — like their larger bovine relatives — make the world a warmer [...]

Speech Proves McCain’s a ‘Closet Cowboy’
May 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Properly motivated, I might go so far as to take time to identify six degrees of separation between John McCain and the rear ends of cows identified by by a British newspaper article 18 months ago as the main source of greenhouse gas pollutants. Not in the mooood to get behind such an effort (multiple [...]

Cowardly Al Gore Won’t Debate Global Warming
October 5th, 2007 · 3 Comments
I’m feeling bittersweet after reading Steve Huntley’s article in today’s Chicago Sun-Times. Why? Because I’m afraid it might serve as the journalistic “nail” in the coffin of Al Gore’s hopes for a lifetime of global warming riches. In his article, Huntley outlines how one group — The Heartland Institute — has, over a period of [...]
