While driving home from the airport tonight, I was listening to The Dana Show on 97.1 FM Talk in St. Louis and heard conservative talk show host Dana Loesch expressing her disgust about a free, government-support phone service for people on the public dole. Then, as soon as I got home, I found an e-mail [...]

Highway Separates Patriots, Public Option Backers
October 3rd, 2009 · 7 Comments
Some 200 patriotic citizens lined one side of Highway K early this afternoon at the intersection of Highways K & N in O’Fallon, Mo. Their signs told the story of their passionate disdain for socialism, government-run health care and an out-of-control federal government. Across the street, barely a dozen individuals carried signs in support of [...]

Bill O’Reilly: ‘ObamaCare Un-Constitutional’
August 26th, 2009 · 1 Comment
On his show last night, Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly went on record as saying ObamaCare is unConstitutional and cited the commerce clause of the Constitution as justification for his claim the fact that the federal government is not allowed to force you to buy something or, in lieu of that, pay a tax as [...]

‘Cash for Clunkers’ Meets ‘Cash for Coffins’
August 20th, 2009 · 5 Comments
According to an article in USA TODAY this morning, the demand for taxpayer-funded burials — let’s call it “Cash for Coffins” — is on the rise. On the heels of the glowing success (NOT!) of the federal government’s “Cash for Clunkers” program, perhaps the two programs can be combined — as shown in the photo [...]

Clunkers Spotted on I-70 in St. Louis
August 6th, 2009 · 2 Comments
While driving along Interstate 70 in St. Louis yesterday, I noticed a tractor-trailer rig loaded with large, old vehicles (i.e., Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles) from the late ’70s and early ’80s. I became convinced that those vehicles had been traded in by people seeking to take advantage of the federal government’s “Cash for Clunkers” program.

It Will Take a Miracle for GM to Pay U.S. Back
June 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment
I was impressed by what I learned today about the “bill of goods” that is being sold to the American taxpayer in the form of the government rescue of General Motors: $30.1 billion = 60 percent stake in New GM’s equity $20.6 billion = Amount federal government spent trying to keep GM out of bankruptcy [...]

Tamarisk, Socialism Share Much in Common
April 19th, 2009 · No Comments
While visiting Western Colorado’s Piceance (pronounced “pee-ahnce”) Basin last week, I learned about a small, non-native tree that reminds me of our socialism-focused federal government under President Barack Obama. The Tamarisk (a.k.a., “Salt Cedar”) is, according to a Seed Magazine report: An invasive species introduced to the United States from Eurasia; A deep-rooted plant that [...]
