Environmental Extremists Have Bad Couple of Days (Update)

It’s been a bad couple of days for environmental extremism wackos:  First, news surfaced about New NASA Data Blow Gaping Hole In Global Warming Alarmism; next, news surfaced about a scientist under investigation for “integrity issues” related to his observations about polar bears allegedly drowning in the Arctic Ocean; and, finally, President Barack Obama’s nominee to be assistant secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks for the Department of the Interior blew it before a Senate committee meeting this morning.

At a Senate Energy and Natural Resources hearing this morning, Rebecca Wodder refused to retract her previous statement that hydraulic fracturing “has a nasty track record of creating a toxic chemical soup that pollutes groundwater and streams…” despite being given the opportunity to do so by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Ala.).

“Ms. Wodder’s testimony today has only confirmed my initial concerns about her nomination,” said Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.  Senator Inhofe went on to point out that the nominee is beholden to an extremist environmental agenda and had made statements that run counter even to the testimony of EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and several Obama administration officials who have repeatedly said before Congress that there has not been a single confirmed case of groundwater contamination due to the hydraulic fracturing process.

“The selection of Ms. Wodder for this position is a clear demonstration of the Obama administration’s hostility towards natural gas development,” Senator Inhofe concluded.  “I am calling on the President to withdraw her nomination. If he does not, I will work with my colleagues to defeat her nomination in the Senate.”

FYI:  If you agree with Senator Inhofe when it comes to exposing the “GLOBULL WARMING” crowd, I recommend you purchase a “GLOBULL WARMING” t-shirt like the one shown at right.

UPDATE 7/29/11 at 3:21 p.m. Central:  Wodder recants!  In a written response to Senator Inhofe, Wodder conceded that, “I am not aware of any proven case where the fracking process itself has affected water….”  Click here for details.

Prince Charles Exposed in Film as ‘Eco-Hypocrite’

Filmmakers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer are at their best again, this time releasing their latest effort to expose the truth about celebrity eco-hypocrisy.

PRINCE CHARLES HYPOCRITE is, according to a news release, a short film which claims the heir to the British throne is a hypocrite because he thinks people should “live with less” to save the planet, but has made no change to his luxurious lifestyle.  The film’s trailer appears below.

Natives of Ireland based in the U.S., McAleer and McElhinney are releasing the short film to coincide with Prince Charles’ visit this week to Washington, D.C., where he will give a keynote speech at a conference on sustainable agriculture.

Their previous short films, Robert Redford Hypocrite and James Cameron Hypocrite have been watched by hundreds of thousands of people.

According to McAleer and McElhinney, PRINCE CHARLES HYPOCRITE is not an attack on the royal family or their wealth.

“The Royal family employs thousands and attracts millions of tourists to the U.K., and they are entitled to profit from that,” McAleer said. “Instead, the film points out that as a so-called environmentalist, Prince Charles, is hypocritical. He is coming to the U.S. to lecture on sustainability and tells people they must live with less in order to save the planet, yet he lives a lavish, wasteful lifestyle.”

PRINCE CHARLES HYPOCRITE also shows how the Prince says we must end our “age of convenience”. He wants to make our lives more inconvenient to save the planet from alleged climate change but the prince refuses to make any changes in his own life.”

The film points out how Prince Charles, with his wife and a staff of 14 flew more than 16,000 miles around south America to “warn about the dangers of climate change.” Instead of a small private jet, Prince Charles traveled on a giant Airbus (normal capacity 134 passengers) that was converted into a luxury private plane.

The film shows aerial footage of Clarence House and Highgrove, the enormous properties Prince Charles owns. This lifestyle is juxtaposed with his quotes about the necessity for everyone to limit their possessions.

“This is classic hypocrisy and needs to be exposed,” said McElhinney. “Prince Charles is coming here to the U.S. to lecture students at a sustainability conference in Washington DC. It is very important that his lifestyle be measured against his pronouncements. There should be some accountability.”

Prince Charles will be speaking at Georgetown University Tuesday afternoon.

POWERSHIFT 2011: Dangerous Ideology

During the past five years, I’ve written about a lot of topics, ranging from global warming and environmentalism to single-payer healthcare, terrorism and Ernesto “Ché” Guevara.  Few topics, however, seem as dangerous as many of the ideas coveted by people who attended the POWERSHIFT 2011 conference last week in Washington, D.C. Watch the Breitbart video below, and see if you agree.

If you agree with me, please share this post.

Senator Inhofe Handles Global Warmers Ambush

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) found himself being ambushed in a Capitol Hill hallway by global warming alarmists with cameras.  Watch the video below to see how the senior senator from the state of my birth handled their whining, fiction-based inquiries.

Good job, senator!

Mirrors in Space to Fight Global Warming?

So-called “climate scientists” at the Cancun Climate Change Conference think putting mirrors in space and sprinkling iron in the sea might cut global warming, according to a report in the U.K. Telegraph newspaper today.  But I don’t buy it.

Since President Barack Obama moved into the White House and put up a mirror into which he could gaze, the global political climate has grown cold toward him and his liberal leftist policies.  I’m just sayin’.

Journalist Banned from Climate Change Conference

It appears that drug cartel-related kidnappings and murders are not the only crimes taking place in Mexico these days.  According to a message received this morning, Phelim McAleer has been denied press accreditation for the Cancun Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico.

Only days before the international conference opening today, the United Nations refused access to the veteran journalist and documentary filmmaker who produced and directed Not Evil Just Wrong (below), a documentary on Global Warming.

Apparently, climate scientists and politicians attending the conference are afraid McAleer might ask them to explain their global warming beliefs.  After all, he has done that before in conjunction with the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December 2009 (See video #1 and video #2 below).

During an encounter in September 2009, an armed U.N. security guard prevented McAleer from asking a scientist difficult questions about the ClimateGate e-mails and warned that if he did not stop filming he would confiscate his equipment and expel him from the conference.  The video below, which was highlighted in a post Sept. 24, 2009, captured the moment that took place .

McAleer says the refusal to allow him access to the Cancun Climate Change Conference is censorship.

“I sent them exactly the same documentation that was acceptable for Copenhagen last year, but it seems they did not like my coverage of Copenhagen and are now trying to silence me and the people who have questions about this process.

“The message is clear:  ask U.N. scientists and politicians difficult questions and you will be banned from any U.N.-sponsored events. No difficult questions allowed,” he added.

FYI: McAleer is a 20-year veteran journalist who covered the Northern Ireland troubles. He has also worked for the U.K. Sunday Times and as a foreign correspondent for the Financial Times and The Economist. He has worked as a journalist and filmmaker in countries as diverse as Ireland, Romania, Uzbekistan , Indonesia, Madagascar, Chile, Indonesia, Vietnam, and many other countries.

Sheryl Crow Takes sWipe at Tea Party Movement

Pop star Sheryl Crow’s name has graced the pages of this blog 16 times since first making headlines by calling upon Americans to limit their toilet paper usage to “one square per visit”.  Earlier this month, the native of Kennett, Mo., native provided right-wingers an opportunity to share more of her “poop” when she answered a Katie Couric interview question about the Tea Party Movement.

Because her comments were published in GLAMOUR, many conservatives — myself included — found out about it only by chance (thanks NewsBusters via Gateway Pundit).  Anyhow, Couric’s question, “What do you think of the Tea Party movement? Because that is the specific sort of group of people who would say we’re out there, we’re getting involved in the process and –,” generated a bone-headed response from Crow that included the following:

“My main concern is that it’s really fear-based. What’s coming out of the Tea Party most often, especially if you go onto YouTube, and you see some of the interviews with these people who really don’t even know what the issues are, they’re just swept up in the fear of it and the anger of it. They’re not sure what they’re angry at; they don’t understand what’s happening on Wall Street. They haven’t educated themselves, but they’re just pissed off. And I understand that, I’m pissed off too. But knowledge is power, and anything less than that when it comes to anger can be dangerous.”

Immigrants from Romania, Ionel “Greg” Grigore and his mother Dumitra had the nerve to show up at one of the rallies after enduring decades of oppression under communist rule.  Watch the video below and read more about them in the posts here and here.

During another event, three more first-generation Americans — from Cuba, India and Brazil — shared stories of the countries from which they came and why they were protesting (i.e., to let Americans know what’s at stake if we allow the politics of “hope and change” to fester). See the video below for details.

And don’t forget those “stupid” doctors, health care professionals and patients I interviewed during the “Million Med March” seven months ago in St. Louis.  They’re in the video below.

Finally, I must admit, I did encounter some Tea Party activists plotting violence at the Tea Party Express III event that rolled through St. Charles, Mo., back in early April.  In the video below, I captured the plotters red-handed.

Crow will probably never attend a Tea Party event and find out just how out of touch she really is.  After all, if she does, she’ll be forced to eat her last name.
