New Movement Seeks to DeNuke Iran

Preventing the Islamic Republic of Iran (a.k.a., “the PIRANHA“) from obtaining nuclear weapons is the core of a new online advocacy campaign launched at DeNukeIran.com.

Co-founders Michael Fenenbock and Daphne Weisbart offer two ways you can take a stand for the denuking of Iran:

First, sign a Declaration that gives us a way to email you and tell you how to mobilize.

Second, join the Community that gives you a way to keep in touch with one another, form groups, and tell us (and one another) how to mobilize.

The goal: Stiffen the spine of American policymakers — before it’s too late.

Two promotional videos (at top and below) present the situation well.

‘W’ Was Right, Iran Is Dangerous

PIRANHA

“Iran was dangerous. Iran is dangerous. Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge to make a nuclear weapon.”

President George W. Bush used the words above 19 months ago during a White House interview with NBC reporter David Gregory (see this post for details).

At the time of the interview, many on the left — including then-Sen. Barack Obama, other left-wing politicians and members of the mainstream media alike — criticized U.S. foreign policy toward the Islamic Republic.  Today, the world stands on the brink of seeing Iran gain nuclear capability; Israel has been forced to consider a preemptive strike; and President Barack Obama appears unconcerned about the livelihood of the Jewish State.

Buckle your seatbelts, everyone.

‘PIRANHA’ Spotted at UN Conference on Racism

Click image to buy PIRANHA merchandise.Almost seven months after he was last spotted on the world stage, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — the mad man of the Middle East whom I’ve dubbed “PIRANHA” — was spotted today at the U.N. Conference on Racism and Human Rights today in Geneva.  As usual, a severe case of verbal diarrea prevented Ahmadinejad from sharing anything worthwhile with delegates in attendance.

U.S. Slaps Sanctions on Iranian Shipping Lines

These designations, according to a Treasury news release issued today, stem from concerns that IRISL is using its global transportation system to ship items of proliferation concern to Iran in circumvention of a number of United Nations Security Council resolutions.  Iran’s violating U.N. resolutions?  Say it isn’t so!

According to the Iranian organization’s web site, IRISL owns 115 ocean going vessels totaling 3.3 million dead weight tonnage, has 7,000 employees and is capable of transporting 22 million tonnes of cargo a year.  That’s a lot of potential “dirty bombs.”

Iran Arrests Finnish Fishermen in Persian Gulf

Iran arrested three Finnish men who allegedly strayed into its territorial waters during a fishing trip in the Persian Gulf, according to Finnish government officials.

An Associated Press news brief appearing on the Fox News web site failed to mention that the three men found themselves in their dilemma only after ignoring PIRANHA warning signs like the one shown below:

Ahmadinejad ‘Milks’ Homemade Hostage Crisis

An Associated Press report out of Tehran today leads this blogger to believe Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is going to milk this homemade hostage crisis for all it’s worth, virtually terrorizing Britons and their Western Allies for weeks to come. The substance of the report appears below:

TEHRAN, Iran (AP)
Iran’s ambassador to Russia renewed a threat Iranian officials made earlier this week, saying 15 British sailors held by Iran could be tried for violating international law, Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported Saturday.

Word to the wise: When you sail into or near Iranian waters, beware of the fish…
