Planning to Make History

Before your interview with a personal historian, you need to answer several questions about your personal history project, including – but not limited to – the following:

  • What do you want from this personal history project?
  • What do you hope to accomplish with this personal history project?
  • Who is your intended audience? Family? Friends? The public?
  • How much of your life story do you want to cover – the entire journey or just one memory?
  • In your personal history interview, who will be interviewed – one person, a couple or a family?
  • Where will the interviews take place?
  • What photographs and documents do you want to include in your personal history?
  • Do you want to include artwork, graphics or illustrations in your personal history project?
  • Do you have a hobby, collection or well-loved place you would like to showcase in this project?
  • What is the budget for your personal history project?

If you’re ready to start the process or have other questions, contact us by e-mail today.
